Terms of Use
Last updated
These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to the Digital Clock Online website at onlinedigitalclock.com (the "Website") and the Digital Clock Online browser extension (the "Extension"), together called the "Services." Digital Clock Online is independently operated by one person.
By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. If you are not old enough to agree to these Terms in your jurisdiction, use the Services only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
1. What the Services provide
The Website provides browser-based digital clocks, geographic time information, a countdown timer, and related informational pages. The Extension replaces the browser's new-tab page with a flip clock and includes product analytics, optional YouTube or radio playback, browser-profile settings sync, and optional Google Drive App Data sync.
The core Extension clock works without a Google account. You choose whether to enable Extension analytics, connect YouTube, play a radio stream, use browser-profile sync, or enable Google Drive sync.
2. Permitted use
You may use the Services for lawful personal or business-supporting purposes. You must not:
- Use the Services in violation of applicable law or the rights of another person
- Interfere with, overload, probe, or bypass the security of the Services or their providers
- Use automated means to scrape or extract content in a way that violates applicable terms or law
- Misrepresent the Services as your own, remove ownership notices, or redistribute a material part of them without permission or an applicable licence
- Use YouTube features to download, separate, or modify YouTube audio or video, bypass restrictions, or otherwise violate YouTube's terms
3. Clock and timer accuracy
The Website requests an uncached timestamp from its server, estimates network delay, and compares that result with your device clock. When the difference is above an intentional threshold, it warns you and can use the server-derived time. Between checks, the display advances using the device's timing facilities. The Extension clock uses the time available from your device.
We aim to provide useful time displays, but do not guarantee exact, uninterrupted, or authoritative time. Accuracy can be affected by device settings, sleep or throttling, network delay, browser behavior, server availability, and updates to time-zone rules. Geographic time information is generated from public time-zone and country datasets that may lag government changes.
Do not rely on the Services as the sole time source for emergencies, safety-critical work, legal deadlines, medical decisions, financial trading, navigation, or any situation requiring a certified or authoritative clock. Timer alerts can be delayed or suppressed by browser, operating-system, battery, focus, sound, or notification settings.
4. Browser Extension licence
Subject to these Terms, you receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Extension for its intended purpose. The Extension and Website, including their design, text, code, and branding, belong to the operator or their licensors. Open-source components remain subject to their own licences.
5. Analytics and contact communications
The Website uses Google Analytics. The Extension ships with separate Google Analytics event collection through the Google Analytics Measurement Protocol. The Extension asks before enabling analytics and provides a Settings control to stop future events. The Privacy Policy describes the data, identifiers, choices, and retention for each product.
If you submit a Website contact form or send an email, you are responsible for the information you choose to include. Do not send passwords, payment-card details, health records, or other sensitive information that is not necessary for your request.
6. YouTube API Services
Digital Clock Online uses YouTube API Services for optional playlist browsing and playback. By using YouTube features within the Extension, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
You must accept our Privacy Policy before connecting YouTube. The Extension requests read-only YouTube access; it does not give you ownership of YouTube content or permission to copy, download, redistribute, remove advertising from, or circumvent restrictions on that content.
YouTube may change, restrict, suspend, or discontinue its APIs, content, embeds, quotas, or your access. We are not responsible for YouTube content, availability, recommendations, or actions taken by Google or YouTube.
7. Google Drive and browser-profile sync
Google Drive cloud sync is optional and remains off until you enable it. It stores selected clock settings and saved playlist records in Google Drive's hidden application-data folder. The limited permission used for this feature does not grant access to your ordinary Drive files. Browser-profile sync, when selected, syncs settings through your browser vendor and does not sync playlists.
Sync can conflict, fail, be delayed, or be unavailable because of network conditions, storage limits, account state, browser behavior, or changes made on multiple devices. You are responsible for keeping any separate backup you consider important.
You may disable cloud sync, delete its cloud backup, or disconnect Google in Extension Settings. Disabling stops future sync but does not delete the existing backup. Deleting the cloud backup removes the Extension's client files from Drive App Data. Disconnecting revokes this app's Google authorization only after the Extension completes the required cleanup; it does not delete information held by YouTube itself.
8. Radio streams and other third-party services
Radio streams, YouTube, Google, Vercel, browser sync, linked sites, and other third-party services are operated by others. Their own terms and privacy policies apply. When you choose a radio URL, you are responsible for having the right to access it. We do not host, endorse, control, or guarantee third-party content or services.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how the Services handle information, including Website and Extension analytics, contact forms, local Extension data, optional Google permissions, YouTube API data, radio connections, retention, and deletion controls. It forms part of these Terms.
10. Changes, updates, and availability
We may add, change, suspend, or remove features, and may release Extension updates through a browser store. Third-party or browser requirements can make an update necessary. We do not promise that every feature will always be available, compatible with every browser or device, or preserved in its current form.
We may revise these Terms. The date at the top identifies the current version. If a change materially affects Google, YouTube, or analytics data use, we will request renewed consent where required. Continued use after other revised Terms take effect means you accept them.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Website or uninstall the Extension at any time. We may limit access to the Services when reasonably necessary to protect users or providers, comply with law, respond to misuse, or discontinue a feature. Sections that by their nature should continue after termination, including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits, will continue.
12. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available." We do not make warranties that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate for every purpose, or compatible with every system. Third-party content and services are outside our control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Digital Clock Online and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, loss of data, lost profits, missed alerts or deadlines, or losses caused by reliance on the Services or a third-party service.
These limits do not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Your local law may provide rights that override part of this section.
14. General terms
If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms do not limit any mandatory rights you have under applicable law. No specific governing-law jurisdiction is designated by these Terms.
15. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to digitalclockonline@gmail.com or through the contact page.
