How Poland keeps its time
- The official time
- GUM
- By law, the President of the Central Office of Measures, GUM, keeps Poland's official time and broadcasts its signals. GUM's Time and Frequency Laboratory runs the national time scale on caesium clocks. The Space Research Centre's observatory at Borówiec helps build the national atomic time scale.
- Summer time by regulation
- a

- Ahead of the sun
- 15° E
- Central European time is set by the 15° east meridian, and almost all of Poland lies east of it. So the sun is highest before noon by the clock. In the far east of the country, that comes more than half an hour early in winter. In summer it comes more than an hour and a half early.
- Summer time all year, not yet
- 0
- A private members' bill to keep summer time all year reached the Sejm. It was sent to a committee for its first reading, and has not passed. The European Union's plan to end clock changes is on hold too. So Poland still changes its clocks twice a year.
- Eastern time, once
- 2 h
- For a few years after the First World War, Poland kept Eastern European time, two hours ahead of Greenwich. After the Second World War it went without summer time for long stretches, before the clock change became yearly again.
