- A federal regulation sets where Pacific Time ends in the east. In Idaho the line comes down the Montana border, then follows county lines and the Salmon River west. Coeur d'Alene, Moscow and Lewiston lie north of that river line, on Pacific Time. In Oregon, Mountain Time takes in most of Malheur County, including Ontario. The county's southern part is left on Pacific Time. Under the regulation, Nevada's only Mountain Time pocket is West Wendover, a city on the Utah border. The same rule puts every municipality on the boundary in the Mountain zone.

- Baja California shares Pacific Time with California. Mexico's Time Zones Law puts the state in its Northwest zone. It also gives the border a seasonal time, from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November. Those are the US Sundays, so the San Diego and Tijuana clocks match every day. The tz database still files Tijuana separately, since its clocks once followed Mexico's own dates. Mexico's law also has a Pacific zone, but it is a different clock. Mazatlán, in that zone, does not change its clocks. It is 1 hour ahead of Los Angeles in winter and level with it in summer.

- Pakistan's national metrology institute abbreviates Pakistan Standard Time with the same letters as Pacific Standard Time. Pakistan is 13 hours ahead of Los Angeles in winter and twelve hours ahead in summer. The tz database and this site write PKT for Pakistan instead. The Philippine time law's long title uses the Pacific letters too. The tz database keeps them for Manila. This site shows PhST, the code in the law's short title. The database's own guide calls such codes ambiguous in practice.

- British Columbia has stopped turning its clocks back in autumn. It keeps one time all year and calls it Pacific Time, coded PCT. That is the summer clock of Los Angeles. So in winter Vancouver is 1 hour ahead of Los Angeles. In summer Seattle and Vancouver read the same. Parts of northern and southeastern British Columbia keep their local mountain time arrangements.

California and Washington are wholly on Pacific Time. Oregon is too, apart from most of Malheur County on the Idaho border. Nevada is, apart from the city of West Wendover. Does California still change its clocks?
Yes. California's time law, approved by voters as Proposition 7, keeps the spring and autumn changes. It lets the Legislature adopt daylight time all year by a two-thirds vote. That is allowed only once federal law authorizes it. Until both happen, California changes its clocks with the rest of the zone.
